Marakwet Organic Farm will draw on available expertise to generate quality produce for the local market using the best organic practices to produce a wide range of fruits, vegetables and herbs.

Furthermore, a percentage of all profits generated by the farm will be returned to the Elgeyo Marakwet Foundation to fund community initiatives such as boreholes to improve access to clean water, clinics offering primary health care and advice, and school infrastructure for local children.

Marakwet Organic Farm has began work of cultivating the highest quality cocoa beans. A mother garden has been set up and is already producing seedlings that are doing well.

Marakwet Organic Farm is looking to plant around 20 acres of cocoa which will all be traceable right back to the farm.

The National Coffee Research Institute in Uganda has also agreed to partner strategically with Marakwet Organic Farm to look into how value addition can be enhanced and realised with the cocoa bean.
